Northeast fell behind early, but thanks to the nimble legs of quarterback and Tennessee signee Jalen Reeves-Maybin and a defense led by Kyle Reid the Eagles mounted a comeback and toppled the Hawks 41-0 in a District 10-AAA game Friday night at the Eagles Nest.

The win improves Northeast to 1-1 on the season after winning its first game of the year, while Rossview drops to 1-1 after losing it’s first game of the season.

In other Friday night games, Clarksville Academy beat Stewart County 51-7; Fort Campbell held off Russellville 34-27; Fairview handled Northwest 51-8; CPA got by Kenwood 35-20 and Paducah Tilgman (Ky.) dispatched West Creek 51-21.

Reeves-Maybin was credited with 307 rushing yards and eight tackles.

After falling behind 13-0 in the first, Northeast took a 13-12 lead into halftime.

The Eagles then went up 20-13 with 5:53 left in the third on a short touchdown  run by Jerome Jones and a Reeves-Maybin 2pt conversion.

Rossview came back and tied 20-all when Isaiah Johnson took a fumble return back for a TD with 9.3 seconds left in 3rd.

But the Reeves-Mayboin show took center stage in the fourth quarter and he scored back-to-back touchdowns on a long run and a final short plunge with 4:11 left in the game that made it 34-20 after both made PATs.

Jones scored again with 1:22 left in game to make it the final.
